CLIENT: Class project (1) at User Experience Design Immersive at General Assembly
OBJECTIVE: I was tasked to discover a problem introduced by a fellow classmate and create an app that would address the issue.
CHALLENGE: Gathering necessary data and completing project with a 48 hour period.
SOLUTION: A community based mobile app that would provide a way to give and receive real-time condition reports to and from fellow bike commuters.
DURATION: 2.5 days (plus revision)
MY ROLE: UX Researcher, Visual Designer, Story Board Illustrator, Logo Design
User research uncovered the pain points of my classmate - an avid biking commuter. I discovered that weather apps are not specific enough. Weather can change from one town to the next in Metro Boston area. Wind gusts can be a problem especially when crossing bridges and near shoreline. Debris in road, flooding, construction sites, and general conditions of roads can drastically effect the commute. Checking once in the morning before departure is key - otherwise the phone is tucked away for the ride. Connecting the biking community would be helpful. Real time reporting - similar to the app WAZE.
“As a biking commuter I want a way to receive real-time reports of conditions along my route so that I can be properly equipped for the day.”
